10:45 A.M.. The Let’s Talk Energy Show - Topic: Electric Power 2030

Predictions are by the year 2030 the annual demand for electricity will increase 33% compared to today’s demand. New power generation facilities will be needed because of the retirement of old plants, increasing population, and the increased use of electricity for many tasks old and new. Learn from top electric power experts what will or should be the sources of energy to provide this electric power.

1:00 P.M. The Let’s Talk Energy Show - Topic: Building Energy Management

The nation’s homes and buildings consume approximately 37 percent of the nation’s energy. About half of that, or 18%, is energy just for heating and cooling 21 million residential and commercial buildings. These buildings also consume 68% of the entire nation’s electricity. Learn what has and can be done to reduce energy usage in buildings while still providing a healthy indoor environment.

2:00 P.M. Selecting Activities and Program Implementation

Participants will learn about the time required for planning and coordinating The Great American Energy Debate activities. Learn how to organize and promote the program in your school and community, and how to report the results of your program.
