About The Great American Energy Debate Organizers

Coordinating The Great American Energy Debate program is the National Foundation for Energy Education (NFEE), a non-profit 501(3) corporation organized in 1998 in the state of Virginia.

Gerard Katz, NFEE President, has 32 years of experience in the energy education field and has successfully initiated programming with Congress, the White House, and scores of energy and education organizations.  Jerry knows the organizations and how they work.  He has trained more than 18,000 teachers and developed over 30 curriculum units.  Mr. Katz founded and coordinated the programs of the National Energy Education Development Project (NEED) for 20 years.   He is known as Mr. Energy.

Rocco Marano, Director Emeritus, Office Student Activities, National Association of Secondary School Principals is the school program director of The Great American Energy Debate.  Rocco has 34 years of experience with National Association of Student Councils and National Honor Society.  He has conducted programs in all 50 states with the participation of sponsors such as Shell, Wendy’s, and Prudential.

Annie Katz, NFEE Vice President, brings 32 years of classroom experience to NFEE and the TGAED Project.  Annie is responsible for curriculum development along with regional program coordination and implementation.
