Waste Not, Want Watts
Nearly 87% of the energy we consume is wasted, usually in the form of heat. The laws of science will never allow us to convert 100% of the energy we consume into useful energy. However, some of that waste heat can be used to do work. Learn from Thomas Casten, a pioneer in the waste energy industry, about what can be done to reduce energy consumption by using waste heat.

Big Green Buildings
The show begins with the host providing
information about what makes an indoor environment uncomfortable.
Several video images will support the opening of the show. Next, the
host introduces Mr. Energy (a.k.a. Jerry Katz) and Mr. Energy
provides a five-minute background piece on the history of heating
and cooling.
Now it’s time for the live guest. (The producer will be provided
information on how to secure a Green Buildings expert.) The expert
will use about 25 images to answer the host’s questions. The guest
expert can preview these images and the host’s questions by
clicking on the links below.
The final guest is on video and will be talking about careers in the
heating and cooling industry.
