The Great American Energy Debate

A project of the National Foundation for Energy Education

What would the nation’s future look like with a significantly more energy educated public?  The answer is that students and the general public, if provided with balanced and scientific information, would support wise energy policies and be wise in their own personal energy use.

A ten year effort is being launched to prompt business, government, and the education community to join together at all levels to establish programs to support ongoing and comprehensive energy education programming in the nation’s schools and communities.

To jump start the ten year campaign of network building and curriculum development a big event will be utilized.  The program event is The Great American Energy Debate. Leaders from student council, honor societies, science clubs, vocational clubs, science or government classes will organize the program with the help of teachers, energy professionals, and local business leaders.

To amplify the efforts of thousands of programs, local student and adult leaders will be encouraged to conduct the program during March 2010.
